Alex Knaster is an international investor and philanthropist, who is a co-founder of Genesis Philanthropy Group.
Alex has built his career in finance. He founded Pamplona Capital Management; served as CEO of Alfa Bank, and was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, CS First Boston, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Bankers Trust Company and Simmons & Company in Moscow, London, New York and Houston.
He is an Executive Fellow at London Business School, where he is a member of the faculty of the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship. Alex also serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisers of Harvard Business School and the President’s Advisor Council of Carnegie Mellon University.
In 2014, Alex founded the Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, which funds translational research efforts into cancer therapy, prevention and early detection.
Alex holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a PhD in Economics from the Russian Academy of Science.
Alex is married and has four children.
