Yana is a graduate of Brandeis University, where she earned her MBA in nonprofit management and a master’s degree from the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program. Immediately following graduation, Yana joined the Brandeis-Genesis Institute for Russian Jewry at Brandeis University in Massachusetts as its Program Manager responsible for global program design and management of the institute’s educational initiatives.
Upon returning to Israel from the United States and prior to joining GPG in October 2016, Yana managed a number of educational projects and initiatives supporting the Russian-Jewish community worldwide.
Among her professional experience in the Jewish community, Yana has worked as the coordinator of Israeli organization Yedidim’s Sela project, which helps to elevate the self-image and self-confidence of at-risk and immigrant adolescent girls; as the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Israel Fellow at the Tanger Hillel at Brooklyn College in New York; as a Unit Head and Educational Director at Havurah, Camp Tel Yehudah, in Barryville, N.Y. In addition to her MBA and M.A., Yana holds a dual bachelor’s degree in management and behavioral science from Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva.
Yana was born in St. Petersburg and raised in Israel, where she served in the IDF’s Intelligence Unit. She now lives in Bat Yam with her husband Tzachi and son Eitan.
