The Blue Card’s Russian-Jewish Giving Event Campaign

The Blue Card’s Russian-Jewish Giving Event Campaign

The Blue Card was established by the Jewish community in Germany in 1934, to help Jews already being affected by Nazi restrictions through loss of jobs, forcibly closed businesses and other forms of oppression.

Today, the Blue Card is the only national organization in the United States whose sole mission is to help needy Holocaust survivors. The organization works with many survivors from the Russian-speaking Jewish community and has now developed a pilot project, geared towards engaging the younger generation.

Through numerous events, the Blue Card's newly developed Russian-Jewish Giving Event Campaign will raise awareness among young Russian Jewish professionals of the need for philanthropy and community building, while increasing their involvement in these activities.

With support from Genesis Philanthropy Group, in 2013-2015 the Blue Card formed a leadership committee and held thee large fundraising events including an exclusive art auction and two annual ping-pong tournaments.

Financial support for this program was provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group, along with The Blue Card and other generous funders.
