Russian Jewish Young Adult Engagement Initiative in the Columbus, Ohio

Russian Jewish Young Adult Engagement Initiative in the Columbus, Ohio

Atid Columbus (formerly known as Young Adult Division at the Jewish Federation of Columbus Ohio) provides opportunities for young professionals in their 20s & 30s to create vibrant peer connections, take part in the larger Jewish community, and explore Judaism on their own terms.

The Russian Jewish Young Adult Engagement Initiative, developed and supported by Genesis Philanthropy Group in partnership with the Federation in 2015, is geared towards creating comfortable ways for Russian-speaking Jewish young adults to connect and participate in the local Jewish community. The program engages young adults, offering active community members to take leadership roles in creating its own community.

A key aspect of the program is the development of lay leadership among Russian-speaking Jewish young adults. As part of this project, community-wide Jewish holiday celebrations are held to create and strengthen connections between Russian-speaking Jewish young adults. Year-round communal activities include social and identity building programs such as networking, social events and volunteer opportunities.

In addition, Russian-speaking Jewish young adults will participate in national and international leadership development programs.

Financial support for this program is provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group along with
the Jewish Federation of Columbus Ohio and other generous donors.
