RJeneration

RJeneration

RJeneration is a community of young Russian-American Jews that allows its members to develop unique Russian-American-Jewish identities that are rooted in their multi-cultural experiences and immigration journeys, creating a bridge for young Russian-American Jews to develop their unique voice and impact the larger Jewish community.

With support from Genesis Philanthropy Group, RJeneration has been able to continue its development by producing new and innovative programming that appeals to different subsets of its target audience in the New York Metropolitan area.

Programming areas have included: Shabbat and Jewish holidays, Jewish Literacy and Spirituality, Social and Outdoor Programs, Young Family Initiatives, Community Service and Social Action, Israel-Focused Programs, and Arts and Culture. Annual events such as Meshugenah House of D.I.Y., a day of workshops and exploration, have brought together over 200 young Russian speaking Jews.

Financial support for this program is provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group along with COJECO, the UJA Federation of New York COJIR Commission and other generous funders.

Goals and Objectives

  • Foster a deeper understanding of Russian Jewish culture among young families in New York City.
  • Provide an innovative entry point into Jewish life to attract individuals who might not be drawn to traditional Jewish programming.
