Outreach to Russian-speaking Children Attending JCCA Camps in the United States

Outreach to Russian-speaking Children Attending JCCA Camps in the United States

The JCC Association (JCCA) is the continental umbrella organization for the Jewish Community Center Movement, which includes more than 350 JCCs, YM-YWHAs, and camp sites in the U.S. and Canada. JCCA offers a wide range of services and resources to help its affiliates provide educational, cultural, social, Jewish identity-building, and recreational programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.

In 2008, Genesis Philanthropy Group supported the participation of Russian-speaking children in Jewish summer camps organized by JCCA member organizations. The grant partially covered camp tuition for participating children and provided funding for the training of camp directors in effective and culturally appropriate methods of working with Russian-speaking Jewish families.

Financial support for this program was provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group along with contributions from parents.
