Jewish House: A Multi-Media Library for the Entire Family

Jewish House: A Multi-Media Library for the Entire Family

In 2011, Genesis Philanthropy Group awarded a grant to support a project of the Mekor Chaim Educational Center.

The project allowed the Melamedia Center for Informal Education to create A Jewish House: a Multi-Media Library for the Entire Family, an interactive educational program. It includes computer games, cartoons, electronic books and other interactive materials on Jewish culture, history and traditions. The program was recorded on a disk, accompanied by user recommendations. 8,000 copies were made available in at least 100 Jewish communities in Russia, other countries of the Former Soviet Union and the Baltic States. The program is intended to be used in communities, schools and for family education.

Goals and Objectives

  • Create a complex of interactive educational materials on the history and culture of the Jewish people available to the entire family in an accessible format.
  • Fill the gap in computer game-based educational materials, which can be used in Jewish schools and in informal education settings.
