Innovative Programs for the Study of the Hebrew Language (Тal AM and ALE) in Jewish Schools

Since the 2010/11 academic year, Genesis Philanthropy Group has been supporting the Jewish Agency for Israel in implementing and supporting Tal AM and ALE programs – innovative systems for Hebrew language studies for Jewish elementary and high school students in the FSU.

In 2014/15 academic year both Tal AM and ALE involve 33 schools in the Former Soviet Union (including Baltic States), and trains teachers to use the new method of language teaching. The projects also support the educational process, including providing textbooks and other educational materials. Every year, the number of participating schools increases.

The project is supported by Genesis Philanthropy Group in partnership with the AVI CHAI Foundation, the Or-Avner Foundation, the L.A. Pincus Fund and the Israeli Ministry of Education.

Goals and Objectives

  • Enhance the quality of Hebrew language education in Jewish schools in the FSU.
